4th of July Fireworks

We went to Anne Arundel Community College to see the fireworks for the 4th of July tonight. Collin had a fantastic time playing outside all day. The first thing we did was get him a balloon (because they're his favorites). It took him most of the day to break it. The Doug Segree band was the first to play and we all really enjoyed them. Then it was time for the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. They were really good as well.
Collin's friend Emma and her mom joined us for the festivities. What a ladies man, he's already kissing the girls!

Nicholas took a nice long nap and when he woke up, he was in a great mood. I thought for sure he'd wake up screaming because he was hungry. Instead, he played for a little while before he decided it was meal time.
Collin enjoyed being in a big boy chair. It was a nice break from all the running around that he was doing.
He also got his first taste of Cotton Candy! Not my idea....
Can you believe it was actually Tim who went and bought the Cotton Candy? It was not as good as it was when we were kids, but Collin thought it was great. He had a blue face and hands when he was done.
Aunt Bella and Max were fascinated with how high in the sky the balloons were going after they had been let go. They spent quite a while tracking one particular balloon.

Collin and Emma each got a glow in the dark necklace. Here they are sitting in a chair together. They had such a good time playing together. Unfortunately, when it came time for the fireworks, Collin's good time was over. He was absolutely petrified of all the noise. The poor little guy shook like a leaf in our arms. He didn't want Mommy or Daddy, but went running for Max as fast as he could. Collin actually fell asleep during the fireworks while Max held him. Nick also slept through most of the fireworks but he woke up for the finale. There were some technical difficulties so we had to wait for the finale, but it was worth it because, although it was short, it was one of the best we've seen. Hopefully, next year Collin will enjoy the fireworks more. We may take him on the 4th to the spot we went to last year where you could see fireworks, but you couldn't hear them. I think he may like them better without all the noise. Hope you all have a wonderful 4th!

We went to see the Fireworks over Middle River and Johnny was all excited...until he found out what fireworks actually are. Then he covered his eyes with his hands and kept saying, "No, no fireworks, no..." and my FIL had to take him inside! Cute pics! I love the one of your dad with Nicholas!

Trent missed the fireworks because he turns evil by 8:30. I thought about stretching him to stay up later- but on Monday, he was up until 8:30 at my in-laws and he started hitting, biting, you name it. So we didnt even bother last night!

We had a ton of fireworks outside our house - so we sat on the porch and watched while Trent slept through the whole show!
